Golden Nude Stamping

I decided to stamp over yesterday's Nude Beige polish, for the stamping I used Barry M Foil Effects in Gold, it gave a subtle stamped effect over the nude base.

 

 

I used Cheeky plate ch44, a nail polish themed design.

 

I'm quite pleased with the effect of the two colours but less pleased with the horrible mess of the stamping, as you can see the images came out rather blurry.  It looked fine in person but macro photography is not a messy stamps friend!

Yummy, yummy, yummy!

I has lunch with some friends the other day in Wagamama, I decided that a nice food themed stamp would be ideal for my manicure...

 

I used Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Watermelon to do the stamping.

 

The plate is CH42 by Cheeky.

Chinese inspired stamping

I decided to stamp over Viva la Diva before taking it off and the bright red colour reminded me of the beautiful Chinese fabric you get, so I decided to try and emulate that.

 

 

I used Cheeky plate CH44 for the flower pattern.  Although it's not really the right sort of flower for a Chinese design I am still pleased with the overall effect.  Excuse the horrible state of my nails, apparently taking photos right after you get out of the shower doesn't so your cuticles any favours!

 

 

The stamping is done with Barry M Gold Foil Effect polish.

 

 

Twin Post with Nuthin' but a Nail Thing!

Today's post is twined with the lovely Claire from Nuthin' but a Nail Thing.  Claire and I have known each other for a few years now and she's the one person I can always rely on to make me feel better about my massive polish stash and obsessive nail painting habit, she's at least as guilt as I am, if not more! :)

 

Before we get on to the twin post pictures head over and see some of Claire's fabulous creations, some of my personal favourites are her Colour Block Nails, these super cute Cupcakes and her Polka Dot Gradient, honestly, the girl has more patience and steadier hands than anyone else I know, serious nails skillz.

 

Now, on to the twin post.  We decided to do a post using the same polish but since we both have rather large collections we struggled to come up with just one polish to use, so to conquer that problem we decided to showcase 3 Kiko polishes which we both have and love, here's how my effort turned out:

 

 

The polishes we used were 336, 279 and 343, all from Kiko:

 

I decided to do a gradient using the three polishes and then stamp over the top.  For the stamping I used the polish from a cheap white nail art pen that I picked up on my travels and a plate from Cheeky's Summer Collection; Ch46, it features Space related designs and I chose what I think look like little molecules as my image.

 

 

I'm pleased with the finished result, the stamp turned out pretty well and I like the contrast of the white over the bold colours of the gradient underneath.

 

 

It's definitely not my neatest ever manicure and I am not really feeling my super short nails but all in all it turned out how I had hoped and I think it was a pretty successful attempt.

Stamped Stars

A quick stamping manicure today:

 

 

I used a base of Kiko 389 (my favourite that I posted the other day) and then Cheeky plate CH5 with  Barry M Gold Foil Effect for the stars.

 

I'm pretty pleased with hos this turned out, it's subtle but not too subtle which is great for work.

GALS Fairy Stamping Plates

Today I have the second of the GALS stamping plate sets to show you, the Fairy set (which features plates GA26-GA50), as with the previous set the Fairy set is available on Amazon from Cheeky's shop there. I have taken individual photos of each plate to show the images but first a quick reminder of the boxes for the sets (they're slightly beat up from transit but all the plates arrived in good condition).

As you can see there are a great selection of images, I particularly love the full nail designs, I can't wait to try  more of them out.  I've already used a couple of the plates in my final Christmas themed manicure of this year, which you can see here.  They stamped beautifully and all the images were perfectly crisp.  

The one minor issue I would mention about these plates is that they are slightly smaller than some other plates I have so they didn't cover the full length of my nails when they were long.  On shorter nails they would be absolutely fine but ladies with longer nails might want to bear the slightly smaller size of these images.

The only thing left to do was to stick them into my plate holder, which you can see more info on here.

GALS Princess Stamping Plates.

Today I have the first of two new sets of GALS stamping plates to show you, the Princess set (which features plates GA1-GA25) both are are available on Amazon from Cheeky's shop there.  As far as I can tell they ship from China as mine took a long time to arrive, they also arrived a bit beat up as you can see from the boxes below.

However, inside the slightly bashed boxes the plates were in fine condition.  I've taken individual pictures of each plate to show off the designs, here is the Princess set:
