China Glaze Hologlam Collection Picks

China Glazes OMG Holographic collection are probably some of the best loved polishes in the nail world, unfortunately they seem to have been a one off and later holographic collections for China Glaze have never been quite so spectacular.

So, although I didn't have hugely high hopes for the Hologlam Collection the choice of colours meant that I couldn't resist picking up a couple of bottles to try.  I chose When Stars Collide, a deep maroon / burgundy shade and Strap On Your Moonboots a sort of dark royal blue.

The colours look beautiful in the bottle but not very holographic, even under bright light.

I love the colours and since I'm not expecting them to be the amazing in your face holo goodness of the OMG collection I don't think they will be disappointing on the nail, keep your eyes peeled later in the week for manicures done with both new colours.

Have you picked up any of the Hologlam collection yet?

Sally Hansen Mandarin Garnet

Today's nails are Sally Hansen Mandarin Garnet, a polish which I found lurking with a few other Nail Prisms in the back of a shop.  In regular light it's a pretty, slightly shimmery colour.

But in the 5 minutes of sunshine Glasgow saw today you can see why it's still a much desired polish despite being from a collection released 10 years ago, it's holographic!

This is a really pretty polish and a good dupe for the, also very hard to find, China Glaze OMG collection, I just wish people would bring out more polishes like these now instead of them only being available through hunting high and low or paying loads on eBay.

China Glaze OMG QT

This is China Glaze QT, part of the very popular OMG collection.

It doesn't really show it's full holo goodness in the dull Scottish weather, so a flash is required to catch it:

Indoors under fluorescent lighting, it's quite shiny and a little holographic but really it needs direct daylight to fully show it off:

Definitely one for the summer holidays in sunny Spain!
